Guys,
Feast of Blades (feastofblades.com and feastofblades on Facebook) has invited us to run an event during the Con (October 11-13 at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center).
So I was curious if anyone was interested in either running or participating in a Blood Bowl tournament. Since it is a bigger event, there would be more foot traffic and it would coincide or be near the expected (and highly anticipated) release of the 25th Anniversary Blood Bowl box set.
If no one else wants to run it, I will step up and get it set up but I would like to see some discussion and get a good gauge of interest.
Thanks,
Frank

I sent an email out earlier this week, but so far, no response. I'll have updates as they come up.

After we talked I assumed you were but since I hadn't seen anything so I thought I'd throw it out too.
Hopefully we get some feedback in the next few days so we can decide on a course of action.

If I were to run it, I expect it to be a single day event. I need to look over the FoB site and see what it would cost for admission, how that is divided out for prize support and a few other details.
I'm intrigued by a fixed bracket but Swiss pairing is so common and popular that it might be easier to run it Swiss.
I also want to gauge interest in the community. I'd really like to know that people would be willing and able to play, even if it meant paying to get into the con. If that is the case, I assume people would want 4 games but would people be able to commit a full day to playing.
Hopefully I can get some good feedback over the next week or so and I can decide if we can make it happen.

It's very likely that I can play. I have boards/dice/etc if you need supplies too.

Update: I have provided logistic info to the FoB people. That is all.

I haven't gotten much feedback from people wanting/able to play. I don't think it's going to get off the ground at this point.

I think anyone would be hard pressed to get an answer out of anyone without times, dates, tourney format, how many people are interested on the FoB side as opposed to here. I'm letting them dictate how to proceed, at some point, they'll either want set details to set it up or they won't. On my end, I only have so much time, so if they get to me at the last minute, they'll be disappointed. This is not going to be a NAF sanctioned tourney

I posted the days and location of the con and asked if people wanted to play or run since we were offered space. I got one " I'm busy that month" and one " I want to play." I thought we wanted to be a core group for BloodBowl so we have to drive to an extent.
As far as NAF, we could probably get a couple of players by sanctioning and posting. Denver is an easy city to get and i know a few people that would make the trip. The problem I see is that we don't seem to have much interest locally. Without local buy-in it's hard to get excited to run something at least personally.
