Timers prevent 4 and 5 hour games. BB games should be 2 hours or so max. That's why I like timers.

We were voting on Illegal procedure, but it was a landslide, being no one wanted to use it. So it's out. I outlined it in the rules just so no one would think I forgot about it.
Timers are out also. I have no problem if you want to time yourself casually. I will probably run a silent timer for myself just so I don't get lazy with the time. Only because when it comes to tourneys, if we don't time turns, we won't get enough games played. But for the season, they are definitely out.
Again, the bottom line is fun. The voting was put in on several things to bring in some balance for everyone. You can't please every player, but I think it's turning out to be a good start to a good league.
If I've confused you on a few rules or regulations, I apologize.
Welcome aboard! Looking forward to seeing those Bloodwatch minis!!

I get it, but if we all make the effort, I've never seen one go nearly that long. Would be kind of good to have a ref sometime so that the guy that sits there picking his nose and not doing anything with any speed would get called for delay of game. I usually play simple teams, and I am sure my turns don't go over 4 minutes very often, and they are often much shorter when I make an ill advised move and turthe ball over, which happens all time. I just think getting all legalistic tends to create an atmosphere that isn't much fun. Again just my opinion, I'll be up for the games either way.

I haven't played BB in a few years. Will we be using the Living Rule Book 6?
Can someone send me a link to the LRB that we'll be using.
Thanks, Crispy

Going to add Competition rules and a few other things to end of house rules post. Help keep everything together. Thanks for helping each other out, and sorry I didn't have this before.

Well I guess I will put my two cents in. - I love the sportsmanship rules. I can not tell you guys how many times I have played against people who swear and scream at me during matches, taunt, etc. It is just a game. - I also like the 2 separate brackets. It is fair and everyone has some playoff fun. - I vote on a compromise on the journeyman/proN system. Why not just have both? 1. If a team has 10 or less players, they are given 2 options. The proN system or the journeymen system. 2. A team can only have 1 proN system loan at a time. Ie if they are down more than 1 player they can only loan out one player. The rest have to be journeymen with the loner trait. 3. At the end of the match, if they loaned money for a player the match winnings and any other funds immediately go toward the loan immediately. If journeymen is used, they can choose to take the journeyman if funds are available. 3a. Both available. It seems fair to me. I will take care of the debt numbers if need be, I do not mind at all. - The base thing is weird. The big guy bases are big. GW designed them that way for a reason. they are big. but I think we are all adults and can figure out which bases are on which grid squares. Come on guys. We are adults. It isn't hard to tell. - I hate the illegal procedure rule in league games. It is ticky tacky and causes so much anger. Leave it for the crazy tournaments with people yelling and screaming at each other. - however, I do suggest the 4 min timer. A player can go over the timer once per game, but from then on it causes turnovers. That is my two cents.

Due to heightened league interest, are we considering altering the playoff structure?

If we get more than 12 for the season, we'll run 8 in the champ brackets instead of 4.

This may have been brought up before...how are we handling OT for the regular season. One half of sudden death?

Just added it to house rules. Something I have been wanting to do, but has slipped my mind repeatedly. - Overtime = Matches that are tied at end of regulation continue play immediately until a team scores. No new setup, kickoff, etc. Relocate turn marker to turn 1. If neither team can score in 8 turns of overtime, match ends in a tie.

Please, Please, Please, let the teams start over with a coinflip and kickoff. I feel this way it would force teams to try and score in regulation. Don't allow a team to grind down a 12 turn half, scoring in their own sweet time since the player knows there is no rush to score in the final half. Both teams should have an equal chance to recieve. The reason I feel this way is because the teams in the first half dont have this same advantage. Otherwise, I will always kick to my opponent in the first half.

Yeah I'm not a fan of this overtime rule either, we'll just have to expose its flaws I guess It gives a large advantage to receiving 1st half IMO. If you score 1st half, then kick 2nd half up 1-0, no matter how long the other guy takes to score you will have practically forever to plod down the pitch for 2-1. No rush at all. If he scored in 2 turns you would receive 1-1 and have 14 turns to score. I say just have ties to keep regular season game lengths under control, but thats just me. Prolly too late to change rules though. We may just have to see how this one shakes out.
