I was just curious how everyone is coming along with their games. I checked the OBBLM site and it looks like we still have a Week 5 match to be played and one of those players happens to be my Week 6 match up.
Are we still on track to finish Week 6 in a few days or is Week 5 being extended?
Thanks, Frank

I don't even see schedule for week 6, where are you seeing that? Not sure of my opponent, but would love to get a game in, just haven't heard anything from the other coach, or seen the match-up, maybe I'm a little dense or lost.

So our Week 6 matches are due to be finished on Monday, yet the week 5 matches haven't been completed....can we get a response from either the Griks or Drakwald Destroyers on this game...

It will get played once we can find a time we can both play. Also, we're losing a coach. Dr Thud, the Deep Mountain Stonebeards coach, is moving due to his job. Match 6 was his last game. Also, the house rules aren't being followed. Coaches are using mercs and star players. I'm setting a mandatory league meeting for this Sunday evening at 7pm at the Denny's at 6th Avenue and Union/Simms. We are gonna vote, go over rules, and come up with some concrete decisions on how to move forward. We need as many as possible to attend.
Any questions or concerns, Brandon 303-642-5038

Ouch...I really doubt I'll be able to make that. I have a small grad school project due Sunday, in addition to coaching my son's football practice on saturday and his championship weekend on sunday as well. I will email you separately my questions, concerns, potential votes, and anything else I can think of...

Also Star Players are allowed under our rules, as only wizards and mercs are prohibited. BUT, if wizards and mercs are being used, that's a big no no.

I like that no oponents call out anybody on using mercs, yet they were used. last time i checked, all the league rules have been posted. Everybody on the league can access these rules at at anytime.... looking forward to this " league meeting"....
hope to see you All there

Star Players were never voted on. The drama was a little too high to keep going with it. I did ask around and not one single coach seemed interested in using Star players or even discussing them. I truly didn't think they would be used. So it obviously requires a vote. Sunday is important. Getting together and concreting house rules, which should have been done long ago. I take all the blame for that. However, we need a plan for the coach we've lost as well.

I'll make contact with a couple of friends and see if I can find a coach willing to take the vacated slot. Need to decide how we would let him build his roster given that he would be coming in mid-season.

If you can find a sub, i say let that person finish out the season with the dwarf roster as it currently is, allowing for proxy models. This is not a normal situation and I would rather keep the integrity of the schedule together.

The OBBLM site we run for PitchMasters is not owned by me. It's owned by the coach that is leaving. I only have global rights. I could never get the OBBLM managers to get me set up for some reason. They would never return my requests for a setup. So the current Pitchmasters OBBLM is defunct. It's still useable, but is not owned by me and I've already tried to become a co-owner, to no avail. We also have a 2nd coach that cannot continue to play. There are other more trivial issues. The house rules have been ineffective due to communication issues. In part due to a stale forum structure and myself being more of a "regulate yourself" kind of commissioner. It's also been a 5 round Blood Bowl roller coaster. OT rules, changing house rules, confusion and some frustration. Bottom line is that the season has to be scrapped. However, PitchMasters is far from over. This is the plan. A PitchMasters Blood Bowl club. We get a designated OBBLM for PitchMasters. You load as many of your teams in it as you wish. We have weekly club nights to play at local hobby stores. All of your stats go into OBBLM and you're ranked. Kind of a local NAF type of thing. No house rules. Just show up and play. I hope I haven't pissed anyone off. I still want to play Blood Bowl. Future seasons can still be played. The league/club is definitely not going away. I love this game too much for that to happen.

Let's set those days pronto. It will be fun to try out some different teams. Summers are a bitch for everybody. A bit more of the plan would be to have this club structure for now, do outreach to new players and with the GW 25th anniversary box coming out in the fall, really build up a good community of players.
You still get to keep what you've built and your opponent gets inducements based on team value just like the league when you play on club days. You can load as many teams as you like into the OBBLM listings (but don't do that until we transition to a new OBBLM home), and play different teams whenever the mood suits, I have a couple I want to try out but not sure about running them in a league structure.
Once we get through summer we can start-up a new league and everybody will have had a chance to try out different teams and set-ups, in the mean time. Given vacations, work situations and all of that this seems a good idea, though maybe not ideal for everybody.
We will also try to do much more outreach and see if we can do demos and such at the local stores as well as inviting newbies to come play and learn the game. If you want to set up a consistent club event a a store near you ( like 3rd Saturday of every month for instance), do it, then let everybody know so that if we have the time we can come in and throw down. Thinking about getting some business cards done so we all have a stack of them we can give to interested people, to keep them in touch and give them a place to see announcements and the ongoing events.
With the new box coming out this fall I don't see any reason we can't build a vital and growing Blood Bowl community if we, as the dedicated proponents of the game, become good ambassadors and welcome in new players as well as becoming a stronger social circle ourselves.
